  1. Sometimes the more somebody opens his mouth the more he shoots himself in the foot ... https://www.bardown.com/jesse-puljujarvi-is-hoping-to-land-a-top-six-role-in-a-trade-from-the-oilers-1.1353462?fbclid=IwAR3-8qrvW_kRNEdk4zMKewtSgnw2ApceX7QbTsLi1NHDEnM4S-ansAid6wM
  2. Alright everyone, let's calm down here. The OMB is open to everyone as long as they comply with the rules, including fans of rival teams. And since we've had a thread focused on the Flames for ... how long? That pretty much amounts to an open invitation to any Flames fans that want to come on here and defend the merits of their team against anything we say. It's also natural that fans will have a definite emotional investment in either of their teams, and will want to defend their teams against critiques made by fans of the other team. That's true of both Oiler fans and Flames fans. It's all good, as long as we stay within the rules. So please ...
  3. I suppose, but I'd like to see more players involved so that it feels more dependent on team building than lucking out against other stacked rosters.
  4. I've been in JP's corner this whole time, but after reading Fog's link ... wow man ... Blake Wheeler struggled to get it going in his early years, but it wasn't for lack of trying, willingness to learn, or immaturity. He just needed to figure out how to assemble the tools in the box. Exhibiting that level of 'coachability' ... not good ...

  7. Jurco has real skill. If he suddenly decides to get it together, who knows ...
  8. Gusev and Buchnevich seem like the prime possibilities, as their teams are pressed hard against the cap. We ourselves would need to cap dump (e.g. Gagner) to make it work. Buch would be my preference, since he's more of a shooter.
  9. The one thing I remember was Kadri blatantly ragdolling McD a matter of days into Lucic's first days as an Oiler, and I'm like, "dude, what do you think we signed you for!?" And this was when we were still under the delusion that he could be McD's LW on an ongoing basis. Sometimes I just didn't see it as Lucic exercising rational judgment about whether his help was deserved or needed. Sometimes it just seemed like he didn't give a hoot.
  10. People used to live in a town called hope, it can cause even rational people to cross their fingers when the obvious is staring them in the face. I admit to having been in that boat too ...
  11. Sounds like he may be just what the Oilers need:
