  1. On waivers? Now that's a head scratcher

  3. Russel lives in his hometown (well about 1.5 miles out of it). He ain't leaving the oilers
  4. Torches come out pretty quick. Had to laugh on the knocks on Bouchard already. 10 minutes into his NHL career and ready to burn him at the stake
  5. Was wondering the same thing myself.

  8. A draft better than ever hoped having JP land in the oilers lap at #4, and yet the negativity continues. Sheesh, what a fun board
  9. .I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but what exactly makes you so confident in Chiarelli? - Was it his decision to keep MacT and Howsen aboard in such high ranking management positions that gave you such confidence? - Was it his decision to sub out a respected veteran centre like Gordon with an expiring contract, for disappointments like Korpikowski and Letestu that gave you such confidence? (Who have 2 and 3 year contracts) - Was it his decision to add another 6th/7th defenseman like Gryba to the team, when we were already loaded with bottom pairing defenseman that gave you such confidence? - Was it his decision to add ANOTHER young inexperienced defenseman like Reinhart to a team already loaded with young inexperienced defenseman that gave you such confidence? - Was it his decision not to buy out Nikitin that gave you such confidence in him? I mean after all, 1.5mil in extra cap space is more important than Nikitin stealing top pairing minutes from your prospects in the AHL right? Seriously... Other than getting an experienced coach (Something that even the most casual fan has been saying for years), and the no-brainer of selecting McDavid... What has PC done so far that has been any better than past Oiler GM's? If the Ottawa Senators had not made the mistake of choosing to keep Redden over Chara years ago.... Do you honestly think that PC would have won a cup, or been talked about as a good GM? I don't. - His draft history is nothing to be excited about; - His trade record is very hit or miss; - He's not exactly great at managing the cap; - And his first offseason for the Oilers has been a failure. So what exactly gives you so much confidence in PC? . What is it that makes you believe it was PC's decision to keep MacT and Howson on anyways? I highly doubt it was his call. You really think a new GM and coach can come in here and fix the mess in the first year? Don't kid yourself. They weren't even able to start seeing what they truly had until the first game. Sheeesh. Gonna take more than a year to clean this one up. Same arguements daily start to grow old .Excuses, excuses, excuses. You conveniently ignore most of the points against him that I brought up. Instead you act like I expected him to fix everything in one offseason when I never said that ever. I simply want what most fans want... Tangible improvement; more wins; not making similar mistakes to past Oilers management. Don't hide behind excuses or exaggerate expectations... Yes or No... Have you actually like the decisions that PC has made so far? Stay in the here and now and comment on specific examples of the 10 or so decisions he's made so far... Not fantasy moves that he may or may not make in the future. How many decisions that he's made to date actually look good, and how many look bad? I bet I can name more decisions he's made that haven't worked out, then you can name of ones that have worked out. . Actually I ignored most of your points because I was bored once again after the first two and quit reading. Same old same old *yawn*

Gonna take more than a year to clean this one up. Same arguements daily start to grow old I agree that it takes more than a year to "fix" the mess BUT . . . have you truthfully seen ANY improvement this year beyond moral victories? Let's face it, the same problems remain with the team. The things we hoped would change with a new coach haven't. RNH still has the same problems. Eberle is still soft. The team D is still horrible. We won't change over night but there is NO discernible change. At the this rate we will have less points this year than last. The main problem is the players. It's not the coach (this time). We have pretty much whip cream and very little cake. PC must make changes and they should be made at the moment it can help the team regardless of the time of year. Off season is not magical. In fact most changes that really help teams are made during the year. I'm waiting for changes cause his team won't become better with time. Once again, they needed to know exactly what they were dealing with in order to fix it. PC acquired one of the most coveted FA defencemen (not working out that great yet) and a sought after unproven goalie (once again a gamble that hasn't paid off yet). Got rid of a softie (MM). After 25 or whatever games, what should he be doing? Trading Nurse for another defenceman? There is a lot of dead weight, but who else wants them? What value are Yak and Jultz gonna bring? Gotta have a trading partner. Things will happen I'm sure.......when they can
